Choosing the Right Foods

Not all foods are healthy for you.

Most lollies are unhealthy for your body. They cause problems with gums, cavities and tartar on your teeth.

Secondly, some foods are not good because they contain fats in them.Such as: meat, bacon and sausage organ meats; fried chicken, fried fish and shellfish; high-fat luncheon meat. These should be kept to a minimum.

Some foods are healthy for you and some aren’t.

For example, healthy foods like bread, cereal, rice and pasta should be eaten up to 611 servings. Foods that are high in sugar like candy, sweet desserts and soft drinks should be fewer.

Some foods are not healthy because they have sugar and other things in them.

Junk Food

It is vital for children not to have junk food in their diet. We should cut down on it for the following reasons:

Firstly, as you know junk food is at the lowest level of the food pyramid so it is bad for your health. It promotes sickness all over the world. According to the food pyramid you should eat more fruits and vegetables.

Secondly, the oil, fat and sugar found in junk food is bad for your health because it harms your liver and causes disease. Avoid junk food by eating fruit like bananas which are 99.5% fat free and totally cholesterol free.

Thirdly, the children at school get themselves in trouble because of the candy that they eat every day that makes them go hypo.

Lastly, vegetables are essential for children because they’re full of vitamins and anti-oxidants.

Eating junk food is extremely fatal to peoples' bodies.

A Proper Diet

A Proper Diet is essential for the following reasons:

Firstly, food gives you energy to run and exercise. Linda Cummins, Kerry Packer’s nutritionist, once told Tempo magazine having a banana shake was one of the most effective ways to wake up the body and mind when fatigue hits.

Secondly, some food, such as milk, helps you to grow because it has a lot of calcium. The Diet Association says that eight year-olds should have 800 milligrams of Calcium a day to keep them healthy.

Thirdly, healthy foods such as bananas are good for you and they keep you fit. Sports people consume them by the truckload, not just for their energy content but to replace potassium lost in sweating.

A balanced diet is absolutely vital to your health. It keeps you fit and healthy.

Smoking

Firstly, it gives people diseases. In Ireland about 6000 people die from smoking-related diseases.

Secondly, you can die.Smoking increases your heart rate and increases your requirement for oxygen and other nutrients in the blood.

Thirdly, smoking harms others.According to a Canadian report, smoking doubles the risk of breast cancer for women.

Junk Food

Eating junk food is a concern for your health for the following reasons:

Firstly, it is at the lowest level on the food chain so it’s not as healthy as food on the top of the food pyramid. It is recommended to eat more rice, wheat, fruit and vegetables.

Secondly, most junk foods don’t taste as nice as fruits and vegetables. Fruits, like bananas and oranges, taste so nice some people even eat them for breakfast. People eat, an average of 15kg of bananas a year because they are so popular.

Furthermore, some children who eat lollies with sugar in them, start to misbehave because there is too much sugar, fat and oil. Children that do eat sugar can’t control themselves.

Last but not least, you SHOULD! cut down on fat, sugar and oil because you will get overweight and fat. Bananas are 99.5% fat free and cholesterol free so they are good.

Eating junk food all the time is fatal to people’s health.

Smoking

It is widely believed that smoking is a concern to health for the following reasons:

Firstly, smoking can kill many people. A study in Ireland shows that 6,000 people die each year from smoking related diseases.

Secondly, smoking can cause diseases. Studies show that smoking causes three major diseases: lung cancer, heart disease and bronchitis/ emphysema.

Thirdly, smoking is bad for women because it will give them breast cancer. A report involving a study of 1,420 breast cancer patients show that smoking doubles the risk of developing breast cancer.

In conclusion it is essential to health not to smoke.
